BIRDWISEâ„¢ ASSESSMENT

BirdWise™ — Discover Your Bird | One Day in the Chair™

About BirdWiseâ„¢

For over two decades, The Birds have helped people understand how they communicate, lead, connect, and thrive — in every room they walk into, and in every personal relationship they have.

There are four bird types — four behavioral styles. Most of us have two prominent bird types, but a great majority of us carry a blend of all of them. BirdWise™ helps you find yours — and understand why that matters every single day.

This assessment is designed for adults 18 and older. A youth version is available through The Flockâ„¢ Jr..

“The wisest among us can quickly recognize all four birds — and has developed the skills to adapt to each behavioral style in every interaction. It leads to improved communication, stronger outcomes, and deeper relationships. Think of it as learning a different language — one that everyone around you is already speaking.”

All Four Birds

Results & Taking Charge. You are decisive, direct, and driven. You see the end goal clearly and move toward it with confidence. Where others hesitate, you act. You can take the heat, manage the conflict, and push through the controversy that others simply can't — and that often makes you the one who gets it across the finish line. But here's what the best Eagles know: they need the skills of every other bird on the team to truly succeed.

  • Wired to take charge — you move quickly from idea to action
  • Direct communicator — no one wonders where you stand
  • Comfortable with authority, conflict, and pressure
  • Driven by challenge and motivated by measurable results
  • Able to push through obstacles that stop others cold

Knowing when to circle back and bring others into the process. Hearing "no" as information, not opposition. The most effective Eagles recognize that involving the right people at the right time isn't slowing down — it's how you win bigger.

You thrive with authority, challenge, and room to achieve results. Give an Eagle clear outcomes and the freedom to get there. Micromanagement is the fastest way to lose one.

You show up through loyalty and action — not always words. Learning to pause and ask matters more than you know, and probably more than you'll ever admit.

Influence & People Skills. You are the energy in the room. People leave your presence feeling better — more hopeful, more capable, more willing to act. Your enthusiasm is not performance; it is your natural language. You inspire action not through authority but through belief — and people follow you because you make them believe too.

  • Natural connector — you build relationships quickly and authentically
  • Highly persuasive — people buy into your vision and energy
  • Optimistic by default — you see possibility where others see problems
  • Collaborative and fun to work with — you raise the energy of every room
  • Creative thinker — you generate ideas freely and enthusiastically

Following through on what you start. The same energy that launches ten ideas can leave nine of them unfinished. The most effective Peacocks build systems — or surround themselves with people — that bring their brilliant ideas all the way home.

You thrive in roles where people, persuasion, and creativity matter. Give a Peacock an audience and a mission and they will move mountains. Routine without variety is where Peacocks go to wither.

You give energy freely — but you also need it in return. Learning to slow down and listen as deeply as you speak is the move that transforms good relationships into great ones.

Steadiness & Loyalty. You are the steady presence that holds everything together. Loyal, consistent, and deeply empathetic — people lean on you because they know you will show up, every time. You don't need the spotlight. You need to know the work matters and the people around you are okay. That quiet reliability is rarer and more valuable than most people realize.

  • Deeply loyal — people trust you completely, and they should
  • Calm under pressure — you are the anchor when others are reactive
  • Excellent listener — people feel genuinely heard around you
  • Team-oriented — you put the group's needs alongside your own
  • Consistent and dependable — you do what you say, every time

Speaking up when something isn't working — for you. Doves absorb a lot to keep the peace. The most effective Doves learn that voicing a need is not conflict; it's communication, and the people who love them are waiting to hear it.

You thrive in collaborative, stable environments where relationships matter. Constant change, public conflict, and unpredictability drain a Dove fast. Give them clarity, consistency, and a team worth showing up for.

You love deeply and show it through service and presence. Learning to let others care for you the same way — without deflecting — is a gift you can give to every relationship you're in.

Precision & Analytical Skills. You are the one focused on getting it exactly right. Your precision, high standards, and analytical mind protect everyone around you from costly mistakes — often before they even know there was a risk. Where others move fast and fix later, you think it through the first time. That thoroughness isn't slowness; it's quality control that most people can't replicate.

  • Exceptional attention to detail — nothing slips past you
  • Analytical thinker — you process deeply before you decide
  • High standards — you hold yourself and your work to a level others admire
  • Logical and systematic — you build processes that actually work
  • Trustworthy with complex or sensitive information

Done is sometimes better than perfect. The most effective Owls learn to recognize when more analysis is adding value — and when it's creating delay. Progress requires releasing what's "good enough" so that great can follow.

You thrive where accuracy, expertise, and thoroughness are valued. Give an Owl clear expectations, time to think, and the data they need. Rushing them or moving goalposts mid-process is the fastest way to lose their best work.

You show love through acts of precision — researching, preparing, solving. Learning to be present without having all the answers — to sit in the feeling with someone instead of solving it — is where your deepest connections live.
